Kindersley Klippers’ defenceman Ethan Hilbig has eclipsed 200 games played in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

He hit the milestone on Jan. 17 as the Klippers visited the Flin Flon Bombers at the Whitney Forum.

In today’s world, the feat of playing 200 SJHL games is very rare and, therefore, worth celebrating.

“This is a fantastic accomplishment,” said Clayton Jardine, his head coach and general manager in Kindersley, “and to play all 200 games in green and blue is truly spectacular.

“We are incredibly proud of Ethan and all that he has achieved both as a player and as a person here in Kindersley.”

Hilbig, 20, hails from Kindersley and has played all 201 games for his hometown club.

A 6-foot-4, 220-pound defender, he has eight goals and 46 points while playing a rugged, defence-first game.

He spent the first three seasons of his junior career playing with his big brother Tylin, who is in his first year in USports with the University of Windsor.

“Not many people get to play Junior in their hometown and have the support that I’ve gotten for the past four-plus years,” Ethan Hilbig said.

“It means everything to me that I’ve been able to play all 200 with the Klipps, and in front of friends and family every night.”
