Melfort Mustangs’ defenseman Tyler Heidt has changed his commitment for post secondary hockey. Heidt has now committed to NCAAA Division I Merrimack College after withdrawing his commitment to the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
“It was a decision I made when the new coaches came in. When they got the new coaches I just thought that it would be better for me to get to a program where I get to a place where the coaches have watched me a little bit and believe in me,” Heidt explained.
“Alaska was a great program and I thought I would love it there too it is just now looking back I thought Merrimack would be a better fit for me and I think I will have a great chance to succeed and have a lot of fun there,” he added.
Heidt has committed for the 2018-2019 season.
