MELVILLE SNAPS SLIDE IN MELFORT

The Melville Millionaires took an eight game winless skid into Melfort on Wednesday, against one of the league’s hottest teams in the Sherwood Division leading Mustangs, but the Mils turned their misfortunes around with a 4-3 victory on the road.

Luke Spadafora scored two first period goals and added an assist in the second for a three point night, lifting him to fourth in SJHL scoring with 31-points (9g-22a) in 21-games.

Jonathan Krahn scored in the second period and Jack Verstraete scored his first SJHL goal to break a 3-3 tie late in the third.

Newcomer Ethan Lahmon made 36/39 saves in his first SJHL start for the Millionaires (5-12-2-2).

Alex Rondeau opened the scoring for the Mustangs (13-5-2-1) 4:17 into the game.  Ben Tkachuk and Seth McCulloch rounded out the scoring for the home side.
