REGINA, SK – Melville Millionaires forward Matthew Edwards has committed to Trinity Western University of USports for the 2026-27 Canada West campaign.
Edwards, 20, notched 25 points in 49 regular-season contests and added a goal in the playoffs with the Mils this past season.
The Saskatoon, SK native split a four-year junior career between the BCHL, Western Hockey League and SJHL, finishing off between the Weyburn Red Wings and Melville.
In 68 SJHL games during the 2025-26 season, he scored 10 goals and added 31 points while providing rugged, physical leadership.
A product of the Saskatoon minor hockey system, Edwards was originally selected by the Kindersley Klippers in the second round of the 2020 SJHL Draft.
Edwards was also named the Millionaires 2025-26 RBC Community Ambassador for his work volunteering with local youth hockey and at a local school.
“Matthew has been an invaluable leader for us this year,” the Mils said of Edwards.
“He’s first to volunteer for every event, and has been a big brother to all the first-year players. He’s very positive, always smiling and brings a youthful enthusiasm to everything he does.
Trinity Western University plays in Langley, BC, in CanadaWest’s Western Conference.
