REGINA, SK – Melville Millionaires goaltender Matthew Spencer-Dahl has committed to the University of Dubuque of NCAA Division III for the 2026-27 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association campaign.
Spencer-Dahl, 20, sported a record of 12-7-3 in 23 regular-season appearances for the Millionaires this season, and posted a 2.69 goals against average and a .916 save percentage over that span.
A native of Qualicum, BC, Spencer-Dahl was acquired by the Mils from the Winnipeg Monarchs of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League mid-season last year and quickly grabbed the No. 1 job.
He posted a .921 save percentage and a 2.80 goals-against average in six postseason contests for Melville this year.
Over his five-year junior career, MSD appeared in 70 games, split between the Monarchs and Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL, and the Sioux Lookout Bombers of the Superior International Junior Hockey League.
The University of Dubuque featured two great Highway 39 rivals this past season, including Estevan Bruins’ alum and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champion Zach Burfoot, and Weyburn Red Wings and Humboldt Bronco fan-favourite and goaltender Dazza Mitchell.
