MONDAY RECAP: Round 2 set after Wings, Bombers wins

REGINA, SK – And then there were four.

The 2025 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs, presented by UPL, Round 2 is set after Game 6 road wins for the Weyburn Red Wings and Flin Flon Bombers.

Angelo Zol was terrific in making 34 saves, and Max Chakrabarti’s third-period marker held up as the winner as the Weyburn Red Wings edged the Battlefords North Stars 2-1 to take the series 4-2.

Finally, in Humboldt, five different Bombers found the back of the net, and Flin Flon cruised to a 5-0 win in Game 6 to take the series against the Broncos 4-2.

Matthew Kieper made 23 saves for his second consecutive shutout and third goose-egg of the round in net for Flin Flon.

Dates for Round 2 to be announced.
