REGINA, SK – Kaleb Binner scored twice, and Cole Unger and Kelan Simmonds both added a goal and an assist as the Melfort Mustangs locked themselves into the No. 6 seed with a 6-1 win over the Estevan Bruins Wednesday.

Kason Kobelka made 19 stops in the win and has given up three goals or fewer in 14 straight appearances.

The Mustangs put themselves out of reach of No. 7 Melville with the win, while the Bruins still need two points from their final two games to clinch the eighth and final playoff spot.

Melfort will close out its campaign Friday with a trip to Nipawin, to face a Hawks team still battling hard for Round 1 home-ice advantage.

Estevan has a pair with its Highway 39 rival, Weyburn, to end the campaign, and given its points lead over Kindersley and Humboldt and its ownership of the tiebreaker, its destiny is still in its own hands.
