MELFORT, SK – Melfort Mustangs defenceman Nolan Roberts has committed to the University of Guelph of USports for the 2025-26 Ontario University Athletics campaign.

Roberts, 21, played in 89 regular-season games and 27 postseason contests for the Mustangs, winning the Canterra Seeds Cup championship in both seasons with the club. He posted 46 points while playing a fearsome, physical game.

A native of Brandon, MB, he joined the Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the 2022-23 season out of his hometown Wheat Kings minor hockey system.

Roberts also played in six of Melfort’s contests at the 2024 Centennial Cup in Oakville, ON.

He was also the Mustangs’ 2025 RBC Community Ambassador award winner, finishing second in the league’s voting.

Congratulations, Nolan.
