Cade Kowalski scored twice in his return to Weyburn, and then set up Daylan Marchi (1g-1a) for the overtime winner as the Flin Flon Bombers came from behind twice and beat the Red Wings 3-2 (OT) on Wednesday night. Brandson Hein added two assists.
Kowalski has 21-goals and 60-points on the season including 21-points (7g, 14a) in 14-games since coming to Flin Flon in mid-January.
Gabriel Waked made 24/26 saves to pick up the win, and the Bombers (31-17-1-2), who started the night in 7th spot, now sit in a 6th place tie with Battlefords, one point back of Melfort.
The Bombers get Thursday night off before the back half of their four game trip has them in Estevan Friday, Notre Dame Saturay.
It's another big point for the Red Wings (15-29-5-1), but after a pair of one goal leads, you have to think they were looking for more, as they're now one point back of Melville for a playoff spot, with Melville having a game in hand.
Former Bomber Dawson McKenzie, part of the Kowalski trade, also scored against his former club while Drew Anderson added the other and Cody Levesque made 36/39 saves.
The Wings host Notre Dame Friday before heading to Estevan on Saturday.
The Melfort Mustangs extended their winning streak to five games, while haulting Kindersley's streak at five, as they doubled up the Klippers 6-3.
Justin Ball came awfully close to scoring 50-goals in 50-games, scoring twice and adding an assist, giving him 49-goals and 90-points (both league highs by a good margin) at the 50-game mark. George King also scored twice while Carson Albrecht (1g-1a) and Jake Hobson rounded out the scoring. Shawn Parkinson made 28/31 saves as the Mustangs (31-15-4-0) moved into 5th place overall, one point back of Humboldt and one up on Flin Flon.
Caden Benson scored twice and Noah Bankowski had a goal and an assist for the Klippers (32-13-3-2), who remain two points up on Humboldt for the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division lead, but now have just one game in hand. They're five back of league-leading Nipawin with two in hand.
The Klippers host Battlelfords on Friday, before a Family Day matinee Monday in Humboldt.
Melfort's lone game of the weekend sees them welcome Battlefords on Saturday. Just one point separates those two clubs.
