The Battlefords North Stars ran their winning streak to nine games Tuesday as they out-shot the visiting La Ronge Ice Wolves 44-19 on their way to a 4-1 victory.

The Stars scored three times in the third period to break a tie and pull away, including a pair of Keaton Holinaty powerplay goals.  Holinaty finished with two goals and an assist.  Brett Horn (1g-1a) and Cody Spagrud also found the net, and Taryn Kotchorek made 18/19 saves, as the Stars held the Ice Wolves (2-15-0-3) to single digits in shots in each period.

Aaron MacKay made 40/44 saves and Jared Blaquiere scored for La Ronge.

The Stars (17-5-0-0) are now five points up on Humboldt for the Finning lead.
