The two-time reigning Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Most Valuable Player has made his choice.
Battlefords North Stars’ Kian Bell has committed to Acadia University of USports for the 2024-2025 campaign.
Bell, 20, is from Nova Scotia, and therefore returns to his home province for school. Acadia University is located in Wolfville, NS, in the picturesque Annapolis Valley and competes in the always-competitive Atlantic University Sport Conference.
He was able to become only the third North Star in history to score 50 goals in a season, and put up a 100-point season, won an SJHL championship, and won a silver medal at the National Junior A Championship.
He achieved all these milestones while donning the same #27 that his Uncle Martin Smith wore 35 years earlier.
Kian finished his junior career as the league’s leading scorer, and top forward award winner, amassing a final career total of 92GP-91G-105A-196 PTS. He is fourth in the franchise’s all-time scoring leaders.
