(May 2, 2018 – Regina, SK): FAN EXPO Regina announced yesterday that it will waive all fees for Photo Ops with celebrity guests appearing at the 2018 convention (May 5-6 at Evraz Place), and instead make Photo Ops available by donation only with 100% of proceeds going to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program. The SJHL Assistance Program was established with the help of Co-ops across Western Canada and Federated Co-Op Limited (FCL) to assist with the long-term healing and mental health of all those who were impacted by the Humboldt Broncos tragedy on April 6, as well as to establish an education plan in memory of lives lost. More information on the fund can be found here.

“Everyone in our organization was devastated by the tragedy and our hearts continue to go out to the victims, their families and support communities,” said Fan Expo HQ Vice President Andrew Moyes. “In our grief and solidarity, we wanted to do something to contribute both financially and, hopefully, spiritually by providing a brief escape with a fun show for pop culture lovers. We hope this initiative not only raises but money, but also amplifies the joy and sense of community for our attendees.”

“The Saskatchewan Jr Hockey League is pleased that FAN EXPO Regina has chosen to become a partner with the SJHL Assistance Program,” said SJHL President, Bill Chow. “What FAN EXPO has done will help create a program for now and in the future for players, coaches, trainers of the teams of the SJHL to provide assistance with Mental Health. The SJHL would like to thank the celebrities that are participating in  FAN EXPO Regina .”

Photo Ops typically range in price from $50-$60, and allow attendees the chance to meet their favourite celebrities and pose for a photo. This year’s guests available for Photo Ops include Jason Priestly (Beverly Hills 90210), Megan Follows (Anne of Green Gables, Reign), Eugene Brave Rock (Wonder Woman), Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and voice actors Charles Martinet (“Super Mario”), Todd Haberkorn (Fairy Tail) and Richard Horvitz (Invader Zim). FAN EXPO Regina thanks these guests for their generosity as part of this initiative.

Fan Expo Regina also features over 200 exhibitors and 100,000 square feet of shopping, dozens of hours of panels, and events like sketching duels and costume contests, and much more. Additional guests include superstar creators like Jae Lee (Batman/Superman and more) and Bob McLeod (The New Mutants). The 6th annual Fan Expo Regina will take place May 5-6 at Canada Centre East at Evraz Place. Tickets are available now via www.fanexporegina.com
