Players of the Month – November

SGEU MVP of the Month – Jeremi Tremblay, Flin Flon Bombers

The Flin Flon Bombers continue to be one of the top teams in the SJHL this season and a big reason why the team had plenty of success in the month of November was the play of forward Jeremi Tremblay. In 9 games this month, the 19-year-old compiled 5 goals and 10 assists. This was highlighted by a pair of four point night’s against the Yorkton Terriers on November 10th, and against the Melfort Mustangs on November 26th. The Sacred Heart commit now has 13 goals and 17 assists on the season which is good for 9th in league scoring.

Sasktel Goalie of the Month – Cam Hrdlicka, Estevan Bruins

There hasn’t been anyone busier in the SJHL this season than Estevan Bruins netminder Cam Hrdlicka. The 19-year-old has already played over 1,400 minutes of hockey this season, but he has shown no signs of slowing down. Hrdlicka was superb in the month of November for the defending SJHL Champions, boasting a 6-1-0-0 record with a 2.05 GAA and a .927 SV%. The Calagry, Alberta product also registered 3 shutouts during the month, bringing his total to 4 on the season which leads the SJHL.

Directwest Rookie of the Month – Logan Ziegler, Estevan Bruins

On the opposite end of the ice for the Estevan Bruins, Logan Ziegler has been one of the top forwards for the black and gold in his first season in the SJHL. In 9 games in the month of November, the 18-year-old from Calgary, Alberta registered 4 goals and 6 assists, which was highlighted by a 3 point night on November 3rd where Ziegler had 2 goals and an assist in a win over the Humboldt Broncos. Ziegler sits with 6 goals and 16 assists on the year, which is first among rookies in the league.

SuperU Defenceman of the Month – Zander Stewart, Nipawin Hawks

The young Nipawin Hawks continue to hold down the final playoff spot in the SJHL heading into December and leading the charge on the blue line is Zander Stewart. The 19-year-old West Kelowna, B.C product plays in all situations for the Hawks and continues to produce offensively. In 8 games in November, Stewart racked up 3 goals and 6 assists, which was highlighted by his last game of the month against the Melville Millionaires where he had  a goal and 2 assists. Stewart is now tied for 3rd among SJHL Defenceman in scoring.
