SGEU MVP of the Month – Holden Doell, Battlefords North Stars
The Battlefords North Stars continue to be the top team in the SJHL and as of writing this article the top team in the CJHL. One player leading the way for the Stars this year is 19-year-old Holden Doell. The Martensville, Saskatchewan product is playing on arguably the top line in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with Kian Bell and Jake Southgate. In the month of October, Doell compiled 9 goals and 11 assists in 10 games played. So far this season, Doell has 9 goals and 15 assists in 13 games played this season and is 4th in SJHL scoring.

Sasktel Goalie of the Month – Harman Laser-Hume, Flin Flon Bombers
There was a lot of questions going into this season on who would fill the void of departing netminder Cal Schell of the Flin Flon Bombers. However, the Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan went out and acquired goaltender Harman Laser-Hume from the Nipawin Hawks and the club hasn’t looked back. In the month of October, Laser-Hume had a 6-1-0-1 record with a 2.36 GAA and a .922 SV %. The 19-year-old Creston, B.C product also had 2 shutouts during the month, bringing his early season total to 3.

Direct West Rookie of the Month – Dylan Ruptash, Yorkton Terriers
While the Yorkton Terriers may have struggled in the latter part of the month of October, one player who has stepped into their line-up and made an immediate impact this season is Dylan Ruptash. After a bit of a slow start in his first couple of games of the season, the 18-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta played at a point per game pace in October racking up 7 goals and 3 assists in 10 games. Ruptash is also currently tied for first in team scoring with Greg Nelson.

Defenceman of the Month – Reece Richmond, Flin Flon Bombers
The month of October has generated some great performances on the back-end in the SJHL and Reece Richmond of the Flin Flon Bombers has been right there as one of the top Defenceman in the league. This past month the 20-year-old from Forrest, Manitoba scored at a point per game pace on the blueline, registering a goal and 9 assists. Richmond is now anchoring one of the best D-Cores in the entire SJHL, and is on pace to pass his point total of 31 from last season
