PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Layne Young, Battlefords North Stars
1997 F Layne Young (Frenchman Butte SK) fired three goals and three assists in three games played last week, including a week capping goal and two helper performance on Sunday in Wilcox against the Notre Dame Hounds.  Young ups his regular season totals to 20-goals and 29-assists in 36-games overall.  Runner up:  Chris Van Os Shaw, Humboldt.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Eric Sinclair, Flin Flon Bombers
1996 D Eric Sinclair (Kenora ON) picked up three points in a two game sweep on the road at Kindersley over the weekend.  The reining SJHL Defenseman Of The Year had two assists on Friday and a goal on Saturday and has 6-goals and 19-assists in 25-games since arriving in Flin Flon via trade earlier this season.  Runner-up:  Connor Swystun, Humboldt.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Colby Entz, Melville Millionaires
1998 G Colby Entz (Churchbridge SK) picked up back to back shutouts this past week as he backstopped the Mils to a 3-0 victory over Notre Dame on Wednesday with 29-saves and then on Friday he made 30-saves in a 3-0 decision over La Ronge, boosting his totals to 8-and-3, 2.78, .920 on the year.  Runner-up:  Declan Hobbs, Nipawin.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  MacGregor Sinclair, Battlefords North Stars
1998 F MacGregor Sinclair (Irma AB) scored three goals in a road game Friday night at Estevan to kick off a road  trip with a win against one of the league’s top teams.  He now has 6-goals and 12-assists in 35-games on the year.  Runner-up:  Damian Bentz, Melville.
