CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chris Van Os Shaw, Humboldt Broncos
1997 F Chris Van Os Shaw (Regina SK) kicked off a solid week with a hat trick in Yorkton last Tuesday night before finishing with an assist against Battlefords on Friday and then a goal and an assist in Melfort on Saturday to boost his season totals to 24-goals and 18-assists in 30-games as he challenges for the league scoring lead. Runner up: Kalem Zary, Melfort.
IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK: Eric Sinclair Flin Flon Bombers
1996 D Eric Sinclair (Kenora ON) continued his consistent play with points in all three games this past week to finish with a goal and two assists. He set up a goal Wednesday in Melfort, scored one Friday, at home, against Nipawin. He set up a goal in Nipawin on Saturday and now has 21-points in 17-games on the year. 16-points in 15-games since joining Flin Flon. Runner up: Braxx George, Melfort.
SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Nathan Alalouf, Estevan Bruins
1996 G Nathan Alalouf (Delta BC) won both of his starts this week, finishing with a 1.00 GAA and .966 SPCT, stopping 30-of-31 against Kindersley and 26-of-27 against Notre Dame. He’s 9-and-2 with a 2.97-GAA and .910 SPCT for the year. Runner up: Brenden Newton, Flin Flon.
SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Hayden Guilderson, Estevan Bruins
1997 F Hayden Guilderson (Chilliwack BC) had two assists in a win over Kindersley on Wednesday night. He set up another goal on Friday as the Bruins downed the Notre Dame Hounds. He now has 6-goals and 14-assists in 31-games. Runner up: Brayden Camrud, Humboldt.
