By Mike Stackhouse

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Eric Bolden, Nipawin Hawks
1996 F Eric Bolden (Oswego IL USA) led the Hawks to a quarter-final series sweep over the Humboldt Broncos with 5-points in the final 2-games.  He picked up two goals and one assist in a 4-2 game three victory and then scored the game’s first goal and helped set up the, eventual, winner in game four.  He finished the series with 3-goals and 3-assists in 4-games.  Runner up:  Connor Logan, Battlefords.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Evan Scott, Estevan Bruins
1996 D Evan Scott (Hudson PQ) collected a goal and three assists in the three games the Bruins played last week, two of which were wins to eliminate the Yorkton Terriers.  Scott, who was a QMJHL regular for parts of three seasons in Rimouski and Shawinigan, had a goal and an assist in game three and then picked up two helpers in game five.  That accounts for all of his offensive production through five games thus far in the playoffs.  He had 3-goals and 8-assists in 17-games during the regular season.  Runner up:  Cody Spagrud, Battlefords.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Nathan Alalouf, Estevan Bruins
1996 G Nathan Alalouf (Delta BC) won two of his three starts last week to help the Bruins advance to the league semi-finals.  Alalouf turned away 90-of-97 shots for a 2.34-GAA and .928-SPCT.  He had a 35-save shutout in the series clincher and goes into the match-up with Battlefords at 4-and-1, 2.20, .933 in the postseason.  Runner up:  Kristian Stead, Nipawin.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Adam Dawe, Notre Dame Hounds
1999 F Adam Dawe (Gander NF) returned from injury layoff to pile up three assists in the first period of an elimination game against the Flin Flon Bombers last week, boosting his team to an eventual victory.  He also had an assist on his team’s only goal in Friday’s series finale to finish with 4-points in 2-games.  Dawe, the SJHL Rookie Of The Year, had 3-goals and 7-assists in 6-playoff games.  Runner up:   Michael McChesney, Estevan
