PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Apr 2)

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Arthur Miller, Estevan Bruins.
1997 F Arthur Miller (Regina SK) led the Bruins with two goals in each of the first two games of their semi-final series with the Battlefords North Stars this week, pacing the Bruins to a 2-0 series lead as the series shifts back south this week for games three and four.  Miller has contributed 5-goals and 3-assists in 6-games during the postseason, after he put up 21-goals and 18-assists in 40-games during the regular schedule. Miller has previous playoff pedigree in that he once had 14-points in 7-games at the Telus Cup with the Regina Pat Canadians.  Runner-up: Brett Harasymuk, Nipawin.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Bryce Fiske, Humboldt Broncos
1997 D Bryce Fiske (La Ronge SK) has sparked the Bronco offense in the first two games of their series with Nipawin.  Coming within a whisker of a victory in both games, Fiske has managed two goals and two assists after contributing a goal and a helper in each of the first two contests.  Fiske has 2-goals and 6-assists in 7-playoff games. He had 6-goals and 22-assists in 41-games during the regular season. Runner-up: Thomas Lenchyshyn, Nipawin.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Declan Hobbs, Nipawin Hawks
1998 G Declan Hobbs (Saskatoon SK) backstopped the Hawks to victories in both game one and game two of their semi-final series with Humboldt, posting 53-saves on 58-shots, including a double overtime win in game one.  That was good for a 2.10-GAA and .914-SPCT over the weekend. Hobbs has a 1.56-GAA and .947-SPCT during the playoffs. He had a 2.20-GAA and .919-SPCT in the regular season. Runner-up: Bo Didur, Estevan.

MYSASK 411 SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Tanner Manz, Estevan Bruins
1999 F Tanner Manz (Southey SK) has been a depth forward all season for the Bruins, but he stepped to the forefront on Saturday night as he fired three goals against the hometown Battlefords North Stars en route to a 7-3 Bruins victory.  Manz, who scored 7-goals and 8-assists in 55-games during the regular season, already has 4-goals and 1-assist in 6-games of the playoffs. Runner-up: Jacob Wassermann, Humboldt.
