PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (April 15)

CANALTA HOTEL SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  MacGregor Sinclair, Battlefords North Stars
1998 F Mac Sinclair (Irma AB) had a strong opening two games of the Canalta Cup finals, picking up a goal and an assist in game one and also playing a strong defensive game as well as dominating on face-offs.  He has 3-goals and 4-assists in 13-games during the playoffs.  Runner-up:  Braydon Buziak, Battlefords.

SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Jake Hobson, Melfort Mustangs
1999 D Jake Hobson (Christopher Lake SK) was the first player to beat Joel Grzybowski in over 241 minutes with his second period goal in game one.  He was also the only goal scorer in game two as he notched the game winner.  Hobson has 5-goals and 4-assists in 13-games in the postseason.  Runner-up:  Seth Summers, Battlefords.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Shawn Parkinson, Melfort Mustangs
1999 G Shawn Parkinson (Victoria BC) was installed between the pipes in game two of the Canalta Cup final and he provided an immediate lift, making 28-saves in outdueling Joel Grzybowski for the 1-0 victory.  It was just his fourth appearance of the playoffs and his first victory (1-and-2) despite great peripherals of a 1.64-GAA and .938-SPCT.  Runner-up:  Joel Grzybowski, Battlefords.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Noah Form, Battlefords North Stars
2000 D Noah Form (Saskatoon SK) opened the scoring in the Canalta Cup finals and also picked up an assist as he now has 2-goals and 2-assists in 13-games in the playoffs after scoring just one during the regular season.  Form plays on the top pairing with Cody Spagrud and has emerged this Spring.  Runner-up:  Dylan Esau, Battlefords.
