SGEU MVP of the Week: Kian Bell, Battlefords North Stars

It was a milestone week for Kian Bell of the Battlefords North Stars. He kicked off the week with an incredible performance at home against the Yorkton Terriers where he found the back of the net five times and added an assist and then followed it up on Friday with his 50th goal of the season against the Melville Millionaires. The Bell’s have been ringing frequently this season in Battlefords as the North Stars forward is now up to 51 goals and 40 assists on the season and now leads the SJHL with 91 points with two weeks left in the regular season. This is the 4th time Bell has won SGEU MVP of the Week.

Sasktel Goalie of the Week: Cam Hrdlicka, Estevan Bruins

The Estevan Bruins had a bounce back week as the defending SJHL Champions clinched a playoff spot Saturday night and a big reason for the turnaround was the play of goaltender Cam Hrdlicka. The 19-year-old was rock solid for the black and gold in a pair of wins this week over Melville and Yorkton, allowing just 3 goals in two games and made a total of 65 saves. Hrdlicka now has a 2.91 GAA on the season and a .915 save percentage. This is the 3rd time Hrdlicka has won Sasktel Goalie of the Week.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Alexi Sylvestre, Flin Flon Bombers

This past week was a perfect one for the Flin Flon Bombers as they went 3-0 and Alexi Sylvestre continues to produce for the Bombers as the team battles the injury bug. The 18-year-old forward had a big night in the Bombers 6-4 win in Nipawin Tuesday, where he found the back of the net twice and added an assist. He then followed it up with a goal and an assist against the Weyburn Red Wings in a pair of games at home over the weekend. Sylvestre now has 20 goals and 20 assists on the season and is 2nd in scoring among rookies in the SJHL. This is the 2nd time Sylvestre has won DirectWest Rookie of the Week.

SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Tynan Ewert, Battlefords North Stars

It was another great week on the blue line for Defenceman Tynan Ewert of the Battlefords North Stars. Not only did he have some superb play defensively for the North Stars in three wins this week at home, he also contributed offensively with a goal and four assists. The 20-year-old Defenceman continues to lead the charge when it comes to scoring among defenceman in the SJHL with 7 goals and 44 assists this season. This is the 3rd time Ewert has been named SuperU Defenceman of the Week.
