The Estevan Bruins picked up right where they left off following their five-day shutdown. Eric Pearce led the way with two goals and two assists through the Bruins three games, where they picked up three straight wins. With games in hand over the Humboldt Broncos, if the Bruins keep winning, they’ll soon find themselves back in first place in the SJHL with the leagues best winning percentage of .776.

RBC FORWARD OF THE WEEK: Andrew Schaab, Kindersley Klippers
Andrew Schaab has been one of the best acquisitions in the league prior to the trade deadline. In seven games since being acquired from the Nipawin Hawks, Schaab has picked up eight points (3g, 5a) including three multi-point outings for the Klippers. This past week, the Klippers won three of their four games and find themselves back in the playoffs, sitting in 8th place in the SJHL.

MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS SJHL DEFENCEMAN OF THE WEEK: Xavier Lapointe, Flin Flon Bombers
The Flin Flon Bombers had one of the longest layoffs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, off from January 4th to the 18th. In that span, no other defenseman could catch Lapointe for the league lead. When he returned, he continued where he left off. The Bombers went undefeated this week outscoring their opponents 13-5. Lapointe finished with four more points in four games. He leads all blueliners with 33 points and 14 goals this season.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Cal Schell, Flin Flon Bombers
It was a close race between the winner and runner-up this week in the goalie category. Due to the number of shots against, the nod goes to Schell. Schell never lost a game, faced 82 shots, and only allowed five goals, as the Bombers went undefeated through the week.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Taylor Webb, La Ronge Ice Wolves
Webb scored his first career SJHL goal in the Ice Wolves first game this week. He went on to add three more points through the next three games of the busy stretch. La Ronge picked up two enormous wins over the Nipawin Hawks, climbing to 7th place in the SJHL.
