PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Mar 3)

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Jayden Davis, Estevan Bruins
1999 F Jayden Davis (Alameda SK) had points in every game during the month of February (18 total) and he capped the month by securing 6-points in 3-games played this past week.  Davis had two goals in a win over Notre Dame to get the week started and then to finish in a home and home with Weyburn, Davis had one assist in a win Friday and then three helpers in a comeback bid that fell just short on Saturday.  With his strong finish to the year, Davis is rewarded with his best regular season ever in his junior career, ending with 21-goals and 37-assists in 58-games.  Runner-up:  Chantz Petruic, Yorkton.

MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Doug Scott, Humboldt Broncos
2000 D Doug Scott (North Vancouver BC) is red hot to end the regular season as he picked up six points in two games played this past week and he has an incredible 15-points in his last 5-games.  Scott had a hand in three goals for the Broncos as they defeated Battlefords on Tuesday.  He scored twice and set up another on Saturday in a win over Notre Dame, setting Humboldt up for a possible jump in the standings on the season’s final night on Tuesday.  Scott has 10-goals and 19-assists in 26-games for the year.  Runner-up:  Dane HIrst, Flin Flon.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Shawn Parkinson, Melfort Mustangs
1999 G Shawn Parkinson (Victoria BC) has put his team in position to snag the three seed for the SJHL playoffs after he blanked the Nipawin Hawks in back to back games over the weekend.  Parkinson stopped 23-shots on Friday and then 26-shots on Saturday in picking up the back to back shutouts to bring his overall season total to four shutouts.  Parkinson is 24-12-5-and-1 overall for a win-loss record and leads the league amongst active netminders with a 2.41-GAA.  He has a .917-SPCT.  Runner-up:  Michael Harroch, Humboldt.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Cody Davis, Estevan Bruins
2002 F Cody Davis (Alameda SK) registered points in all three of his team’s games this past week, including a two-goal effort at Weyburn on Friday night.  Davis also scored at Notre Dame on Wednesday and he picked up an assist on Saturday against the Red Wings to bring his overall season totals to 16-goals and 11-assists in 52-games played.  Runner-up:  Braiden Koran, Humboldt.
