SGEU MVP of the Week: Joey Lies, Flin Flon Bombers
It was a massive weekend for the Bombers, and local product Joey Lies was at the heart of it. The 20-year-old forward powered Flin Flon to a crucial sweep of the Humboldt Broncos, contributing offensively while remaining the reliable three-zone presence the coaching staff has praised all season. Lies added a key shootout goal for good measure, rounding out a week that reaffirmed his status as one of the league’s most effective — and often underappreciated — veterans.
Week Stats: 2 GP – 2 G, 2A – 4 PTS, shootout goal vs. Humboldt
Bourgault Forward of the Week: Kane Kennedy, Warman Wolverines
Goal scoring hasn’t come easily for the Wolverines this year, but Kane Kennedy delivered a breakout weekend that kept Warman in the mix. The 2005-born forward erupted for a hat trick Friday night against Weyburn and added another goal to finish with four on the week. As the Wolverines search for more consistency across their lineup, Kennedy has unquestionably done his part, emerging as one of Warman’s most reliable offensive pieces.
Week Stats: 2 GP – 4 G, 0 A – 4 PTS
SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Bo Eisner, Melfort Mustangs
After an uncharacteristically slow start to the season for the defending champions, the Mustangs may have found their spark — and Bo Eisner helped light it. The veteran blueliner posted a big four-point night in Melfort’s victory over La Ronge on Saturday, showcasing the championship poise that made him such a key piece of last year’s run. With Head Coach/GM Trevor Blevins continuing to fine-tune the roster, leaders like Eisner will be central to pushing the Mustangs back toward the top of the standings. The talent is there — and performances like this hint at what’s possible.
Week Stats: 2 GP – 2 G, 2A – 4 PTS
SaskTel Goalie of the Week: Gage Roberts, Nipawin Hawks
Although the Hawks have experienced some inconsistency of late, Gage Roberts continues to be a pillar of stability. The veteran netminder turned aside all 28 shots he faced against Melfort on Nov. 14, securing his first shutout of the season and the third of his SJHL career. Coaches around the league have repeatedly identified Roberts as one of the elite goaltenders, and his latest performance only strengthens that reputation.
Week Stats: 1-0-0-0, 28 svs, 1 SO, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 SV%
SaskMilk Rookie of the Week: Noah Sinagowitz, Melville Millionaires
It has been a roller-coaster season in Melville, but rookie goaltender Noah Sinagowitz delivered one of the most impressive individual efforts of the week. His 27-save shutout in a classic Doug Johnson-style 1-0 win over Estevan helped the Millionaires topple one of the league’s most potent offences. The battle for the starting role in Melville is ongoing, but Sinagowitz continues to show flashes of high-end potential and has made a strong case for an expanded workload.
Week Stats: 1-0-0-0, 27 svs, 1 SO, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 SV%
Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week: Rylan Williams, Estevan Bruins (Kyle, SK)
The Ewan Rennie–Rylan Williams connection has been one of the league’s most electric duos this season, already combining for an astounding 59 points. Williams kept the momentum rolling with a four-point week, capped by a big Bruins victory in Kindersley on Saturday. His blend of pace, power, and finish continues to drive Estevan’s offence through a demanding stretch of the schedule.
Week Stats: 3 GP – 2 G, 2A – 4 PTS
