By Mike Stackhouse

CANALTA HOTELS PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Arthur Miller, Estevan Bruins
1997 F Arthur Miller (Regina SK) picked up three goals and three assists in four games played last week, helping the Bruins go 2-1-and-1 on a four game road swing.  Miller scored twice and set up another Wednesday night at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon, as the Bruins emerged victorious.  He had an assist on Friday in La Ronge, which was a shootout victory for the Bruins, and then he finished with a goal and an assist in the first period of an overtime loss in Nipawin.  Since returning from the Western Hockey League, where he was a veteran of 107 games, Miller has scored four goals and four assists in seven contests.  Runner up:  Kaelan Holt, Estevan.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Bryce Fiske, Humboldt Broncos
1997 D Bryce Fiske (La Ronge SK) collected five assists over the course of three games, all Humboldt wins, this past week.  Fiske had a helper in a 4-1 decision over Kindersley on Tuesday and then set up two in a blowout victory versus Yorkton on Friday.  He set up two more in a come from behind decision against the Terriers on Saturday.  Since joining the team from La Ronge, Fiske has 8-assists in 7-games and the Broncos have gone 6-0-0-1 in that stretch.  Runner-up:  Josh Patrician, Kindersley.

SASKTEL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Arik Weersink, Weyburn Red Wings
1997 G Arik Weersink (Lethbridge AB) backstopped the Wings to three excellent performances, earning a shutout at Battlefords on Saturday as the Wings gutted out a 1-0 victory behind his 31-save performance.  Despite a 1-and-2 record for the week, Weersink was fantastic, posting a 1.57-GAA and .957-SPCT.  Paired with Goalie Of The Month, Carter Phair, the Red Wings have an embarrassment of riches between the pipes.  Runner-up:  Jacob Wassermann, Humboldt.

MYSASK 411 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Jordan Kazymyra, Weyburn Red Wings
1999 F Jordan Kazymyra (Regina SK) factored in on all four of his team’s goals in Kindersley last week, scoring twice in the third period on Thursday night as the Wings fell short by one goal.  He scored once and set up another on Friday as the Wings, once again, lost by a single marker.  Kazymyra has been one of the top first year players in the SJHL all season and is up to 8-goals and 6-assists in 16-games.  Runner-up:  Logan Hunter, Humboldt.
