SGEU MVP OF THE WEEK: Kevin Anderson, Notre Dame Hounds

The Hounds picked up two wins in their three games this week, and both wins came with Kevin Anderson hat-tricks. The Princeton commit led the Hounds to a 7-3 victory on the road in Nipawin, then had an encore performance with four points (3g,1a) in a 6-2 win in La Ronge on Sunday. He also added an assist in their lone loss to Flin Flon. Anderson leads his team with 31 points (10g-21a) in just 18 games and sits tied for 3rd in the SJHL scoring race.

 RBC FORWARD OF THE WEEK: Mark Rumsey, Estevan Bruins

Rumsey’s torrid scoring pace continued this past week. The SJHL’s leading scorer tormented his division rivals in three games over the week. Earlier in the week he picked up an assist in the 4-1 win over Melville. Rumsey then led the Bruins with 5 points on Friday in an 8-0 win over Weyburn, before collecting two more goals including the game winner in a 3-2 victory over the Wings on Saturday. He is now up to 35 points (17g-18a) in 20 games and has an absurd 24 points in his last 9 games.

 MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS SJHL DEFENCEMAN OF THE WEEK: Noah Barlage, Humboldt Broncos

The Broncos remained in first place in the SJHL with back-to-back wins in La Ronge this weekend, picking up their 16th and 17th victory of the season. 2003 born SJHL veteran, Noah Barlage paced the backend with 4 points across those two games. The Humboldt native scored his second goal of the year and added two assists in a 10-2 win on Friday, before adding another helper in a 5-1 win on Saturday.

 SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Michael Harroch, Battlefords North Stars

Back-to-back starts and back-to-back wins for North Stars goalie, Michael Harroch this weekend. Harroch only let in two goals combined over the weekend set, turning aside 39 of 41 shots through his two appearances. He stopped 16 of 17 in a 3-1 win over Kindersley on Friday. Then faced 34 shots against the Nipawin Hawks on Saturday, stopping 33 of them in a 4-1 North Stars win. Harroch is now 5-1-0-1 with the stars since being acquired from the BCHL.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: James Venne, Melfort Mustangs

James Venne has been a stabilizing force whenever called upon for the Melfort Mustangs. The 2004 born rookie came into relief on Friday and stopped all 14 shots faced in the Mustangs loss to the Bombers. Then he got the start the following day and backstopped his way to a 17 save shutout performance against the Yorkton Terriers. Venne has started two games this year and won both, he has also come into relief in two Mustangs games this season. Overall, Venne has allowed just one goal on 57 shots combined.
