REGINA, SK – Ewan Rennie tied the game with 34 seconds remaining in the second period, and Caleb Potter notched the winner in the third as the Estevan Bruins rallied to down the Battlefords North Stars 4-3 Sunday.
Rennie had his third multi-goal game out of his six contests in February and became the first SJHLer this year to hit 70 points on the campaign. His 35 goals are already the most a Bruin has had in a season since Mark Rumsey had 39 in the club’s 2021-22 championship campaign.
Nathan Kam made 37 stops in the win, and Estevan jumped back up into seventh place, ahead of idle Melville.
Battlefords’ Owen Nelson also found the back of the net, and has seven goals in February after entering the month with 10 in the previous five months between the Stars and Melfort Mustangs.
Both the Bruins and North Stars have six games remaining in the regular season and would face each other in Round 1 of the playoffs if it began tonight.
