For the eighth episode of our 2025-26 SJHL RBC Community Ambassadors, we highlight Ashton Tait of the Nipawin Hawks.
RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to the communities where they play. Each Ambassador is celebrated at an RBC Game Night and honoured with an RBC donation to a school in their local community.
SJHL fans will be able to vote online for the RBC Community Ambassador of their choice to be honoured as the recipient of the RBC Community Award at the end of the SJHL regular season. This additional honour is accompanied by a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
Ashton’s $1,000 donation from RBC will go to Central Park Elementary School in Nipawin, SK.
According to the Hawks, the Prince Albert, SK native’s:
commitment goes beyond the rink. Every week, he volunteers at Central Park School, bringing his energy and helping out in the classroom. Whether it’s decorating cookies at Tim Hortons, lending a hand at Handiworks, mentoring young players on the ice, or reading to children at the Nipawin Library, Ashton is always the first to step up.
Ashton has been credited with:
being excited every time he gets to interact with anyone in the community, and always wearing a smile. After each event, he’s sure to tell you how much fun he had at the event, and you can see it in the way he explains it. His energy at the school is infectious to the others who go with him.
