For the 10th episode of our 2025-26 SJHL RBC Community Ambassadors, we highlight Matty Edwards of the Melville Millionaires.
RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to the communities where they play. Each Ambassador is celebrated at an RBC Game Night and honoured with an RBC donation to a school in their local community.
SJHL fans will be able to vote online for the RBC Community Ambassador of their choice to be honoured as the recipient of the RBC Community Award at the end of the SJHL regular season. This additional honour is accompanied by a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
Matty’s $1,000 donation from RBC will go to Davidson School in Melville, SK.
According to the Millionaires, the Saskatoon, SK native:
has been an invaluable leader for us this year. Has the first to volunteer for every event and has been a big brother to all the first year players. He’s very positive, always smiling and brings a youthful enthusiasm to everything he does.
Matty has been credited with:
volunteering at minor hockey, helping with weekly practices at the U7 level. He also visits Davidson Elementary School weekly, and helps with their reading programme.
