REGINA, SK – Two Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) alums will get the chance to impress at this week’s Winnipeg Jets Development Camp.
Max Chakrabarti, a Weyburn Red Wings alumnus, and Max Hildebrand, who had a stint with the Flin Flon Bombers, will take the ice with the likes of Jets recent first-rounder Viggo Bjorck, and one-time Melfort Mustangs draft pick Alex Worthington.
Chakrabarti, 21, was the SJHL Rookie of the Year in the 2024-25 campaign, as he posted 50 points in 56 regular season games and helped the Wings to the Canterra Seeds Cup Final with seven points in 17 post-season contests that campaign.
The 6-foot-3, smooth-skating defenceman scored six points in 37 games a freshman this past season for Augustana University of NCAA Division I.
Hildebrand, 22, played in nine games for the Bombers during the 2021-22 season, earning a 3.24 goals-against average and a 5-4 record.
The Martensville, SK native posted an 8-14-2 record, with a 2.71 goals-against average, and an .895 save percentage at NCAA DI Bemidji State University this past year.
He played in over 140 Western Hockey League games before moving on to college with the Prince Albert Raiders.
Flin Flon selected Hildebrand in the fourth round, 43rd overall in the 2019 SJHL Draft.
