Weyburn Red Wings forward Cyprus Smith-Davis has committed to Trinity Western University of USports for the 2025-26 Canada West campaign.

Smith-Davis, 21, posted 65 points through 129 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League contests from 2022 to 2025, split between the Notre Dame Hounds and the Red Wings.

“Cyprus was a great addition to our team this past season,” said Weyburn head coach/GM Cody Mapes to Red Wings social media.

“We were without a doubt a better team with him in our lineup. He’s an incredible teammate on and off the ice and will be a huge asset to Trinity Western next season.”

A native of Victoria, BC, Smith-Davis joined the Hounds in 2022 out of the BC U18 league’s South Island Royals AAA, and also played games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Grande Prairie Storm and in the British Columbia Hockey League for the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Smith-Davis was a key leader for Weyburn on their run to the 2025 Canterra Seeds Cup final.

TWU is located in Langley, BC, across the strait from his home on Vancouver Island.
