SaskPower Rankings: Week 13 – Dec. 16, 2025

SJHL Power Rankings – Week 13 (Dec. 16, 2025)

1. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 1)

The Bombers have continued their .500 hockey in December, but hold the No. 1 spot in the rankings because they continue to throw tons of rubber at the opposition net and play well each night. Flin Flon split with Battlefords this past weekend, but has averaged over 42 shots per night in December so far. They are also getting healthy and will get Wyatt Stinton back from the Junior A World Challenge this week. Check them out on the first SaskTel Game of the Month this Friday in La Ronge!

2. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 5)

Weyburn has averaged almost six goals per game over this recent four-game win streak, and is the only SJHL team in the CJHL Top 20 rankings this week. Their five goals in 4:34 seconds Saturday in Warman, in the third period, have to be among the fastest five in SJHL history, and it’s all coming up Red Wings with only two games left in 2025. In terms of consistency and the way they play, it’s hard to argue that Weyburn has been the best team in the league so far this year from start to now.

3. Estevan Bruins (Last week 2)

The Bruins were poor Friday at home to Melville, but responded like champions Saturday at the home of the Mils. Caleb Potter’s return further fortifies the back end with talent, and with only two games left in 2025, the Bruins will look to continue solidifying their spot in the league’s Top 4.

4. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 4)

Splits the last four games against Weyburn and Flin Flon are nothing to sniff at, and Finlay Klippenstein cannot be stopped after another big offensive week. While the goals are all the rage for the Black and Silver, what isn’t talked about enough is the club’s ability to prevent goals, as they’ve given up a respectable 3.4 goals per game this year.

5. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 3)

Gage Roberts continues to shine in the net and might have been even better in Nipawin’s 2-1 defeat than its 5-2 win this weekend in Kindersley. His .949 save percentage over the two games further cemented his elite status in the league, and the addition of Braeden Jockims up front for the Hawks means the offensively rich just got richer, while they sit #1 in the league in goals against as well. Dangerous combo.

6. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 6)

Kindersley might have deserved more than two points from their home split vs. Nipawin this past weekend, but had a tough time burying their chances past Gage Roberts in the Hawks’ net. The Klips’ offence, though usually very productive (they sit in fourth in goals for at the time of this writing), has dried up a bit in December, with only five goals in their last three contests. The opposition certainly deserves credit in that regard as well, and there is not a very high level of concern given Kindersley’s firepower. Still, they are on the outside of the home-ice advantage picture in the playoffs as 2025 nears its end.

7. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 9)

The Broncos were three-and-a-half minutes away from a weekend sweep of the Melfort Mustangs, and Brady Holtvogt’s performances in his return to the Humboldt line-up from the WHL showed that the Broncos could very well have the best 1a, 1b goaltending situation in the league with Charlie Tritt also in tow. Consistency continues to elude this talented group, but this veteran-heavy team has what it takes to make the playoffs and go on a big run.

8. Melville Millionaires (Last week 7)

It truly speaks to the parity and congestion of the league that the Mils, who for the most part have been brilliant in December, can only reach eighth in the power rankings. A loss to Estevan at home Saturday put a sour taste in their mouth, but two more big games this month, hopefully with star-in-the-making Matt Spencer-Dahl back in the sticks, could signal huge things for Doug Johnson’s crew heading into 2026.

9. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 8)

Life without their superstar Tommy Ries, away with Canada at the Junior A World Challenge, has proven more challenging offensively than defensively for Yorkton. Still, they were fantastic last Saturday in Kindersley and pulled out a 2-1 win, though they will be thrilled to have their best player back in Orange and Black on Tuesday night. The good news about life without Tommy is that they went 1-1-1, getting wins against playoff teams in Weyburn and Kindersley. The bad news is that they only scored six goals over that span. It’s up to you whether you see the glass half full or half empty!

10. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 9)

Nobody in the league will be happier to flush the 2025 half of this season than the Mustangs. Still, they pulled out an emotional, come-from-behind victory in Humboldt Saturday, and will get their head coach/GM, Trevor Blevins, back immediately from Canada duty. There is too much talent and experience on this team to miss the playoffs…right? Right?

11. Warman Wolverines (Last week 11)

The frustrating inaugural year in Warman continues, but reigning SuperU Defenceman of the Week and Captain Vinny Palmarin’s performances of late, including two beautiful goals vs. Weyburn in Saturday’s heartbreaking loss, have been brilliant. This group is the youngest in the league by a mile, which is cause for optimism given the talent there, but also the biggest reason for their regular lapses in concentration and difficulty finding results. Coach Brett is still doing a terrific job getting this team to compete on a nightly basis.

12. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 12)

The Wolves did not play this past week as their Dec. 9 date with Melfort was postponed. 2025 does not end kindly to La Ronge either, with trips to Nipawin and Flin Flon on the docket. Still, a team coached by Kevin Kaminski will never back down or be an easy out, and this team looks to have bought into that philosophy.
