SaskPower Rankings: Week 8 – Nov. 11, 2025

SJHL Power Rankings – Week 8 (Nov. 11, 2025)

1. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 1)

The Broncos have not played since Nov. 2 and won’t again until Nov. 14. Still, they’ve won seven in a row and are atop the league in win percentage. Jacob Strizzi’s streak continues to be wild: 15 games in a row with a point, 26 points in that span, and still only one game without a point all year. Times are good in Humboldt!

2. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 3)

Cody Mapes’ men continue to put in excellent performances, even though the results are not always perfect. Yes, they have lost three of four since their long layover, but they could easily have won all four. A big bounce-back win in Melville Saturday helps, and they have four winnable games at home coming up next.

3. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 4)

The optimist notes that the Klippers have still only lost three games in regulation all year, out of 20, and only one in November so far through five games. Plus, they do sit in first place in the league, though No. 2 Humboldt has three games in hand on them. The pessimist says half their games have gone to overtime, and they’re 3-7 in those 10 games. You pick your camp. Nobody has scored more goals in the league, and 19 goals in three games this past week fuels the point that this is an explosive offensive squad.

4. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 6)

Flin Flon has been a team of runs so far this year. They won six in a row, then they lost six in a row, now they’re unbeaten in five, with four victories. They won back-to-back games all the way back on last Tuesday and Wednesday, one of which was an always hard-fought 2-1 victory in their rival Melfort’s rink. Mike Reagan is always working, always tinkering to make this club into a force, so it will be interesting to see if this group can find the consistency expected of those in Bomber maroon.

5. Estevan Bruins (Last week 2)

Surely the Bruins would have wanted to go again right away after a pair of big wins to start November against their Highway 39 rival, Weyburn Red Wings, but alas, they have to wait until Nov. 11, nine days. That said, they have had several key additions lately, so some time for those veteran pieces to settle and practice cannot hurt. Drew Kocur’s men have five more at Affinity Place in November, so all sorts of reasons for optimism in the Energy City.

6. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 5)

Nobody was busier than the Terriers last week, with four games in five days, with locales ranging from Flin Flon in the east to North Battleford in the west. That, plus the fact that their key leader Tommy Ries would play six games in those five days due to the Western All-Star Challenge, meant that a .500 record over that time is not bad at all. Only Kindersley has a better power play, and there isn’t a line playing much better in the league than Gabe Courchesne with William Leonard and Jye Zawatsky right now.

7. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 7)

For this group to find a way on Tuesday in North Battleford was huge, and while they have been inconsistent lately, their talent is undeniable. They’re also at home a little bit more coming up, where they have a win percentage of .786 (they’re just over .500 on the road). Get your tickets now, Hawks fans! This team is going to start scoring the goals we all expected them to score, real soon.

8. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 8)

Nothing is easy in the SJHL, but Melfort has six of its next eight at home…and the Northern Lights Palace has been a tough nut to crack since the beginning of time. They lost a tight one to Flin Flon on Wednesday in just their second game of November so far, but they’ll play seven more before the month ends. Trevor Blevins has made as many moves as anybody in the league so far, so it stands to reason this group is still looking to gel. They have also played the fewest games of any team in the league, at 15.

9. Melville Millionaires (Last week 9)

The drama of Friday’s win in Weyburn could not be followed up on Saturday, but the Bunge Division clash remained tight throughout the weekend. If Rylan Oatman can continue to be consistent, his talent is undeniable and could be a much-needed production support to star Kale Margolis. Boy, is Boston Harkness’ early claim on Defenceman of the Year looking good right now…

10. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 10)

Monday’s win over Kindersley to end the four-game homestand was much needed, and boy does 2008-born Steele Bass look like the solid goaltending prospect that led the Prince Albert Raiders to pick him in the third round of the 2023 Western Hockey League draft. This team certainly has talent in some areas, but it’s been hard to determine what they are so far.

11. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 11)

La Ronge has hardly played lately, which should help the young crop have more practice and gym time – never a bad thing. The loss last Wednesday to Yorkton was tough, and their next eight are against what are possibly the top teams in the league. Still, Coach Kaminski has never shied away from a challenge, and neither should his squad.

12. Warman Wolverines (Last week 12)

It has been a frustrating first year for Warman; there is no two ways to dice it. Injuries and inconsistency continue to derail momentum, but Brett Pilkington’s ability to develop young players should provide plenty of optimism for the future. The core of this team, outside of Captain Vinny Palmarin, consists of 2007 and 2008-born players, including the super-skilled recently added Corban Almen from the WHL’s Penticton Vees. It would be beneficial for the league and the new fan base to see a few more results, however.
