REGINA, SK – Maverick Deslisle redirected home the winner off a Reid Arberry point shot 1:45 into the second overtime period, and the Flin Flon Bombers edged the Estevan Bruins 4-3 Saturday to take a 2-0 lead in their Round 1 series.
Nathan Kam was brilliant in the Estevan net, making 61 stops in the loss, while Charlie Tritt stopped 39 shots in his second win in as many days.
Natan Meunier led the way offensively for Flin Flon with three helpers, while Ethan Andrews one-time blast tied the game for the Bruins with 1:06 remaining in regulation.
Jack Janzen was the game-high scorer with two goals and an assist to help the Nipawin Hawks even their series at one with the Weyburn Red Wings with a 5-1 Game 2 win.
Gage Roberts made 40 saves in the win, as Mason Eggen and Brendan Olson also had multi-point nights for Nipawin.
Joey Rocha stopped 26 shots in defeat.
Kaeden Serpa stopped 41 shots, and the Battlefords North Stars killed all seven Melfort Mustangs power plays en route to a 3-2 win, and a 2-0 series lead.
Raiden Zacharias goal at the 13:34 mark of the second period held up as the winner, while former Mustang Owen Nelson also had a goal for Battlefords.
Linken Fisher added two helpers for the Stars, while Madden Mulawka made 23 saves in the loss.
Finally, in Yorkton, it was the Terriers who evened up the series, led by a goal and two assists from the regular-season league scoring champion Gabriel Courchesne.
Matt Spencer-Dahl stopped 35 Yorkton shots in defeat, while Callum Creig made 22 saves for his third career SJHL playoff win.
