REGINA, SK – Stein Dostal scored 3:21 into overtime after Zak Anderson had tied the game with 26 seconds remaining in regulation, and the Kindersley Klippers rallied to edge the Humboldt Broncos 4-3 Saturday. Dawson Karol led Kindersley with two power-play goals on the night.
Melfort extended its win streak to 17 games, tying the millennium-high record set by the Humbolt Broncos in the 2011-12 campaign. Kristian Coombs made 21 stops for his second shutout in a row and the Mustangs’ second 3-0 win over the Melville Millionaires in as many games.
Flin Flon remained unbeaten in regulation in 15 games as they were lifted to a 10-4 win in La Ronge over the Ice Wolves by way of a five-goal second period.
Angelo Zol made 25 saves for his third shutout of the season, and the Weyburn Red Wings downed their Highway 39 rival Estevan Bruins 3-0 at Affinity Place.
Finally, in the Battlefords, four Stars counted multi-point nights, and Justen Maric made 29 stops as the hosts outlasted the Nipawin Hawks 4-2. Eric Hoiness and Carter Anderson countered with two-point nights in defeat.
