REGINA, SK – Ethan Sautner scored twice and unselfishly passed up a hat-trick into an empty net to Pryce Thiessen as the Kindersley Klippers completed a weekend sweep of the Warman Wolverines with a 6-3 win Saturday.

Brock Evans’ late first-period power play goal would hold up as the game-winner, as the teams traded goals after the Klippers scored three goals in three minutes in the opening frame.

The teams combined for 22 goals over the two games, as Kindersley downed Warman 9-4 on Friday evening.

Earlier in the day, Gabriel Courchesne capped off a three-point night with the game-winner at the 5:45 mark of the third period to help the Yorkton Terriers to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Battlefords North Stars.

It was the teams’ second game in less than 24 hours after the North Stars had won 4-1 the night before.

Finally, in Melville, it was the Weyburn Red Wings who also scored some revenge with a bounce-back 5-2 win over the Millionaires after the Mils had taken a dramatic overtime triumph the night before.

Affiliate goaltender Nate Stevens won his second game in as many appearances for Weyburn while making 33 stops.

Lucas Schmid led the way for the Wings offensively, posting his fourth three-point night of the season.

His point-scoring streak stands at 12 games, and he has only been held pointless in a single contest so far this campaign.
