REGINA, SK – Pherson Loehndorf scored a goal and added a helper, and the Warman Wolverines snapped a four-game skid with a 7-3 victory over the Weyburn Red Wings.
Warman forward Kane Kennedy followed up Friday’s hat trick with another tally on the night, and his 10th on the year, to become the first ever double-digit goalscorer in Wolverines history.
In Nipawin, it was Kaeden Serpa and the North Stars who stole the show as the first-year Battlefords goaltender made 43 saves in the 4-1 win over the Hawks.
North Stars captain Gavin Granger led the way offensively with a goal and assisted on Alessio Nardelli’s first SJHL finish for the winner.
The defending champion Melfort Mustangs got pairs from Reis Nyland and Bo Eisner, and cruised to an 8-1 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves at home.
Logan Peskett, Danton Cox, and Austin Shepherd all added multi-point nights to help the Mustangs move within three points of the last playoff spot with games in hand on idle Yorkton.
Estevan got a hat trick from Nathaniel Harvey, his first three goals as a Bruin, and got a much-needed 7-4 victory in Kindersley over the Klippers.
Drew Kocur’s usually high-flying offence broke out after scoring a combined one goal in the last two.
The Bruins went 3-for-5 on the power play on the night.
Finally, in Flin Flon, it was another classic in as many nights as the Bombers rallied again in the third to edge the Humboldt Broncos 3-2.
Maverick Deslisle scored the winner with 3:46 remaining in regulation to lift Flin Flon to the weekend sweep, and their fifth straight win to stay perfect in November.
Broncos forward Jacob Strizzi’s league-high point-scoring streak ended at 16 games, during which he scored 27 points.
