SATURDAY RECAP: North Stars earn road split

WEYBURN, SK – Colton Getzlaff led the way with a pair of goals, and the Battlefords North Stars held up the Weyburn Red Wings and evened up their Round 1 series at a win apiece with a 5-2 victory Saturday.

In Flin Flon, the Bombers went 2-for-8 on the power play and got two goals from Ryder Ringor as they took Game 2 4-2 from the Humboldt Broncos.

Finally, the Melfort Mustangs fell behind early but cruised the rest of the way and earned a 6-1 victory over the Kindersley Klippers in Game 2 behind a three-point night from Zac Somers.
