REGINA, SK – The Weyburn Red Wings scored four power-play goals Saturday to earn a 5-3 win and complete a sweep of the Estevan Bruins in the weekend’s Highway 39 home-and-home.

Dion Schraeder led the way with three assists, while Nate Stevens made 24 stops in the win.

Five of the night’s eight goals came on special teams, as Estevan’s Shea Rollason scored on a shorthanded odd-man rush at 13:58 of the second period.

In Melville, Luke McKechnie stopped all 42 shots he faced in the Melfort net as the Mustangs blanked the Millionaires 1-0.

It was the first shutout of the campaign.

Melfort rookie Angelo Colletti scored the only goal at 17:07 in the middle frame.

The Broncos rallied in the third and scored an overtime winner for the second time in as many nights of the Humboldt-Battlefords home-and-home.

This time, the North Stars found a way to pull it out, scoring three times in the third period and getting the overtime winner from Owen Nelson to down the Broncos 5-4. It was the exact same scoreline in reverse as the night before at Humboldt’s Elgar Petersen Arena.

Finally in Kindersley, the Klippers scored six unanswered goals between the first and third periods en route to a 7-3 victory vs. the visiting Yorkton Terriers.

Austin Bruce’s first two SJHL goals paced the Klippers’ attack, while rookie defenceman Xavier Madore replied with a pair for Yorkton.
