REGINA, SK – A busy Saturday in the SJHL saw reversals of fortune almost across the board from a night ago.

Jacob Strizzi led the way with two goals as the Humboldt Broncos bounced back with a 4-1 win at the Elgar Petersen Arena.

In Estevan, Liam Hallet made 41 stops en route to a 4-2 Bruins victory over the Flin Flon Bombers, who earned a split from their southern swing.

The defending champion Melfort Mustangs bit back at the Melville Millionaires to hand them their first defeat as Centennial Cup veteran Austin Shepherd scored his first of the year in overtime to give the road team a 4-3 win.

Weyburn got pairs from Cyprus Smith-Davis and Luke Dekay, while newly returned Jerome Maharaj added three assists as the Wings down the Nipawin Hawks 6-2 at Crescent Point Place.

The only club to sweep the weekend was the Battlefords North Stars, who got the winner from Braden Nienaber in the third period after the La Ronge Ice Wolves rallied from down 3-1 after one period of play. It ended 4-3 Battlefords.
