REGINA, SK – Vinay Junek led the way with two goals. The Carter Briltz scored the winner with 57 seconds remaining in regulation as the Yorkton Terriers outlasted the Estevan Bruins 6-5 Saturday.
The two clubs combined for a whopping 25 goals over the two-game weekend set between them.
Ben Laurette made 23 stops for his second career SJHL shutout en route to a 2-0 Melville Millionaires victory over the Kindersley Klippers. Gaborik Carlson and Tennessee State NCAA Division I commit Jadon Iyogun provided the offence for the Moneymen.
Earlier in the day, the Broncos scored three straight with just over three minutes remaining in the third period to help Humboldt rally past the Battlefords North Stars 5-3 at the Elgar Petersen Arena.
In La Ronge, all five goals scored in the game were on the power play as the Melfort Mustangs withstood a late Ice Wolves rally to win 3-2. Reilley Kotai’s goal at the 9:55 mark of the final frame stood up as the eventual winner.
Finally, the Flin Flon Bombers put 51 shots on Notre Dame goaltender Kaden Perron and downed the Hounds 4-1. Ex-Bomber Evin Bossel notched the only ND marker on the night.
