The Weyburn Red Wings are playing some of their best hockey of the season right now and the same can be said for one of their top scorers.

Weyburn product Ty Mason continues to help lead the charge for his hometown team as they eye a return to the SJHL playoffs.

In Mason’s last 10 games, he has 5 goals and 7 assists, and his team boasts a 7-3 record in those games.

The 17-year-old is also close to a point per game in his sophomore season in the SJHL. Going into Friday (Jan 27th) night’s action, Mason has 15 goals and 18 assists this season.

Mason was also recognized for his great play this year by being named to the SJHL’s U18 team at the SJHL/MJHL Showcase which is set for next week.

Before the Showcase Mason heads off to the Showcase, the Wings will aim for their 5th straight win as they host the Melfort Mustangs Friday night, and will look to get valuable points in the SJHL standings as they look to secure a playoff berth for the first time since the 2018-2019 season.
