Sharp Honours Humboldt Broncos at CP Women’s Open

By Dave Leaderhouse

The support for the Humboldt Broncos and all of those affected by the tragic bus crash earlier this year was widespread in Saskatchewan on Friday. More than 4,000 people showed up at special event held in Humboldt when Washington Capital forward Chandler Stephenson brought the Stanley Cup to the city for everyone to enjoy while in Regina at the LPGA CP Women’s Open Canadian golfer Alena Sharp and her caddy Sarah Bowman had their new bag, decked out in Bronco colours and prominently showing Humboldt Strong references, on display. Sharp, along with several sponsors, have put the bag in use this week with the specially designed bag to be donated to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation following the tournament. Sharp, who has an aunt and cousins living in Humboldt, made the cut at the week-long event and continues to move up the standings with her fine play on the weekend.
