SJHL alums Martin, Mylymok sign in AHL

REGINA, SK – Two Notre Dame Hounds and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League alums have signed in the American Hockey League recently.

Charles Martin, 27, posted 40 points in 59 games as a dynamic defenceman for the Junior Hounds in the 2018-19 SJHL campaign, has signed with the Laval Rocket, the highest affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

A native of Blainville, QC, Martin attended NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Superior straight out of the SJHL from 2019 to 2023, and has played since then in the Calgary Flames organization at the ECHL level. He made his AHL debut last year with the Flames’ AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers.

Connor Mylymok, 25, played for his uncle Clint with the Jr Hounds in the 2017-18 SJHL campaign, and went on to play NCAA Division I with the University of Alaska at Fairbanks as well as at Niagara.

Mylymok, who grew up in Wilcox, SK, where his father Jeremy was director of hockey for many years, also spent time in the Calgary system last year and played in eight AHL games with the Wranglers. He has signed with the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Congratulations to both gentlemen!
