SJHL/MJHL Showcase Rosters Announced: Meet Team Mitchell

The SJHL has released their rosters for the 2021/22  SJHL/MJHL Showcase.

The annual cross-league showcase was originally supposed to take place in Winnipeg, MB.  However, it had been recently cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions and complications.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League still believes the great players in our league deserve to experience the spotlight that the showcase brings to schools and scouts every year.

Therefore, coaches around the league have assembled the three SJHL rosters that would be representing Saskatchewan.

Team Mitchell

Two 20-year-old veteran goaltenders will share the crease between Battelfords’ Michael Harroch and Kindersley’s Matt Pesenti, both of whom in the top-7 of save percentage in the SJHL.

On the blue line, the Bruins’ paring of Dayton Deics and Kian Calder, along with the Broncos’ twosome of Cody Hough and Nicksha Eric will provide chemistry consistent enough to rattle oppositions attacks. Add in Notre Dame’s Sam Kroon and Yorkton’s Tyson Janzen, and the powerplay has six viable options to quarterback an elite attack.

The forwards are led by three NCAA Division I committed prospects.  Humboldt’s Matthew Perkins and the SJHL’s leading scorer Connor McGrath, along with Estevan’s Caelen Fitzpatrick are all still eligible to play on the young guns team but got called up.

The top line is a trio of North Stars, the third line are all Broncos, and two Melville Millionaires round out the fourth line, so chemistry clearly won’t be a problem for Team Mitchell.

Congratulations to all the players on Team Mitchell!
