REGINA, SK—It is official: the 2024-2025 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League campaign is underway.
Ten of the league’s 12 teams battled Friday night, and Highway 10 rivals the Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires were the big winners.
Meanwhile, the defending champion Melfort Mustangs, and the team they defeated in the final a year ago, the Flin Flon Bombers, both edged their respective opponents with one-goal victories.
Newly minted Yorkton captain Jaron Desnoyers was the biggest story of the day, posting four goals in the Yorkton win. At the same time, Nipawin goaltender Tyson Endall recorded a remarkable 59 stops in defeat.
