SOURCE EMBROIDERY POWER RANKINGS

By Mike Stackhouse

1-BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS (42-8-1-0)
Since November, they’ve lost once on the road (at Nipawin) and only twice against non-South based teams (once to Nipawin, once to Flin Flon).

2-NIPAWIN HAWKS (33-13-2-1)
Thirteen win streak is over, but maybe we should keep counting it since the loss was to the Stars.

3-FLIN FLON BOMBERS (34-12-2-3)
Back in the win column with authority as they sweep the Ice Wolves.

4-ESTEVAN BRUINS (31-15-1-1)
Showing signs of a lengthy win streak and they are one of the few teams to have a win against the North Stars.  In fact, they’ve split their four games with them.

5-HUMBOLDT BRONCOS (26-22-0-1)  Up 1
Just 2-and-10 against the Stars, Bruins, and Bombers; but 3-and-1 against the Hawks.

6-WEYBURN RED WINGS (23-23-1-4)  Up 1
On any given week, you can move around the teams that are ranked 6-10.  This week, the Wings have stood out.

7-NOTRE DAME HOUNDS (21-21-5-1)  Up 3
The Hounds may produce the league scoring champion as well as the rookie of the year.  They can’t be taken lightly despite the Jekyll and Hyde season.

8-KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS (23-26-1-0)  Down 3
Win streak comes to a crashing halt, but with two of those losses to the Stars….do they really count since everyone loses to them?

9-YORKTON TERRIERS (23-25-4-0)  Down 1
They, all but, ended the playoff hopes of the Millionaires this weekend with the home and home sweep.

10-MELFORT MUSTANGS (20-25-2-4)  Down 1
They have feasted on the bottom two clubs (9-and-0 against Melville and La Ronge), so maybe the record is misleading as they’d be 11-25-2-4 against everyone else.

11-MELVILLE MILLIONAIRES (17-29-2-0)
They’ve dropped eight in a row and their max point total that they can get is 56 if they win out, which is unlikely.  They are ten back of the final playoff position.

12-LA RONGE ICE WOLVES (6-39-1-4)
Winless in 21 and, likely, headed for their worst season in franchise history.
