Southgate Commits to Lindenwood University

For the 3rd time in four days there is another Directwest commitment in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, this time from the 1st place Battlefords North Stars as Captain Jake Southgate has announced his commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Lindenwood University.

It’s been an incredible start to the season for the North Stars Captain who is 3rd in SJHL scoring with 10 goals and 32 assists in 28 games played at the time of his commitment.

The Battlefords product has improved each and every year for the North Stars and in total has 96 points in his SJHL career, all with his hometown team.

Southgate will join Lindenwood University for the 2023-2024 season and he is the 3rd player this year from the SJHL to commit to Lindenwood University, joining Jaeden Mercier of the Flin Flon Bombers and Ethan Zielke of the Humboldt Broncos.
