HAWKS CAP PERFECT TWO GAME SWING

After hovering around .500 heading into Christmas, the Nipawin Hawks appear to be back on track, following up Tuesday’s 5-1 win in Kindersley with a 4-1 decision over the league-leading Battlefords North Stars, their third straight win overall.

Rookie Ross Hawryluk played in both games, making 36/37 saves in Battlefords as the Hawks were out-shot 37-21.  Hawryluk was added to the CJHL Prospects Game roster this week.

Carson Erhardt, Jeremy Bisson, Jordan Simoneau and Dawson McKenzie did the scoring for the Hawks (21-17-2-0) in Wednesday’s win.  The Hawks have a Friday/Saturday home-and-home with La Ronge on the docket.

Jaxon Steele provided the only goal on the night for the North Stars (32-7-2-0), who are off until the middle of next week when they head to Notre Dame and Melville Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wednesday’s Flin Flon @ Melfort game was postponed due to poor travel conditions.
