BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS, G
The Battlefords North Stars won the SJHL Canalta Cup this past spring, in large part on the strength of stingy defense and goaltender, and a whole lot of shutouts. Taryn Kotchorek and Joel Gryzbowski combined for 11 regular season shutouts, and Kotchorek had five of those, and one more in the playoffs en route to an unbeaten run to the Cup. Now in his 20-year-old season, Kotchorek and the Stars might just shatter those numbers, as they picked up shutouts in each of their first two games against Kindersley. Kotchorek stopped a total of 62 shots.
