WARMAN, SK – Rylan Williams of the Battlefords North Stars and Connor Miller of the Humboldt Broncos both found the back of the net, but it would not be enough as Team MJHL beat Team SJHL 4-2 in Game 1 of the Western All-Star Showcase Tuesday.
The SJHLers outshot the visitors 22-16 through two periods, and Estevan Bruins’ forward Kent Moors rang the iron among a plethora of chances for the hosts, but it was not enough to rally in the opener of the event.
Waywayseecapo Wolverines forward Dru Mushumanski scored two goals for the MJHLers, while Max Lavoie and Blake Matheson of the Winkler Flyers also scored.
The two teams will battle again Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. ST live on FloHockey from the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.
